Covid-19 Updates

25 August 2020

We are happy to let you all know that we are opening again!

Today we received confirmation from Sport New Zealand and Gymnastics New Zealand that we are able to have multiple groups of 10 (up to 100) / training space in our facility. This is a great outcome for all the athletes, staff (and I’m sure parents) who are keen to get back to gymnastics.

All classes will start back in the gym from Monday 31st August.

All Term 3 members will receive an email with any changes to class times or schedules later this week.  As we did in Alert Level 2 last time will adopt a range of measure to keep our members safe. Please click the following links below to re-familiarise yourselves with plan:

Alert Level 2 Safety management plan.

We also have a video summary of procedures for classes at Level 2, although there are minor differences the general processes remain the same. Click here to watch the video

All staff, visitors and preschool parents who enter the facility will need to check in using the QR code displayed at the facility or sign in at the door . Athletes attending a class will be checked in on the roll at the beginning of their classes.

It has been a fantastic effort from everyone in our online journey, but I’m sure you’re all excited for the move from digital training to physical.

See you next week!

14 August 2020

Good evening Tri Star families,
Following this evenings announcement of Auckland remaining in Alert Level 3, Tri Star will remain closed until at least Thursday 27th August. While we are disappointed that we are unable to hold our classes in the facility, we are pleased to communicate that we will be offering online classes starting Monday 17th August.
As we are part way though Term 3 and unsure of how long we may be in each Alert Level, we will hold off on offering credits until the end of Term 3. At the end of Term 3 we will offer credits for the difference between term fees paid and the cost of your online training.
We are taking an automatic enrollment approach to online training. If you would like to opt out we require confirmation in writing by emailing team@tristar.org.nz.
Over the next couple of days you will receive another email with more specific information including links to the online rooms for each class. You will also receive a reminder email 15 minutes before each class with a link to that specific class.
In order to protect the safety both the athletes and coaches, please ensure that the athletes take part in each class in an open space where an adult is present. If we are made aware that an adult isn't present the athlete will be asked to move to a more public space.
During this lockdown period you will have access to all the online resources and videos relevant to your code/level/step.
As we get more information about movement between alert levels we will be able to provide further updates on events and competitions. We want to acknowledge the tremendous work that our athletes have done to date in getting back to fitness and ready for competition following the first lockdown. We are so proud of our Tri Star family.
We will be in touch again in the coming days. In the meantime remember to stay safe, be kind and breathe.
Kind Regards,Team Tri Star

13 May 2020 - reopening information

Hello Tri Star team.

We were all geared up and excited to communicate to you our reopening plans today but have had to push pause. There is some confusion in the sports community around guidelines for returning to play for indoor venues. There is conflicting information coming from the Ministry of Health and Sport New Zealand about how our operation is viewed, and what the appropriate parameters are that we should be adhering to.

Gymnastics New Zealand has advised that updated information is coming from Sport New Zealand shortly so we have decided to wait for this clarification before getting our plans out to you all, just in case we need to make changes. I’m sure this is a frustration to you all, and our hope is that our online programme efforts go some way to alleviating any disappointment. We are as keen as you all are the get back to the gym (which, by the way smells the best it ever has with all the deep cleaning we have been doing)!

So hang in there team, we’ll get back in the gym when we are confident we are doing it right.

Stay safe. Be kind, Breathe.

Thank you all for your continued support for Tri Star as a club.

We hope to see you again soon.
